Chicago was a huge film town before Hollywood. "OK" Charles
Bass had a great camera company in Chicago from around 1910 to the
late teens. He rented and sold new and used cameras, tripods and retailed
lots of other movie related equipment. He sold all brands of cameras,
including Prestwich. Prestwich had a licensing agreement with Mr.
Bass and he made a version of the Prestwich camera under his name.
Bass made some great refinements that made his camera a little better
than an original Prestwich.
