Her fame as a film star has faded as her career
never got out of the
silent era. She never spoke a line in a sound film. Yet in her day
she
was considered as huge a star as Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford.
Theda married Charles Brabin, a director who's career spanned over
thirty years and more then 70 feature films. She stopped making
films
and faded from the public eye. She lived well and she lived to a
good
age and died wealthy. Not many stars from any era have managed to do
that.
This camera is in excellent condition and is a working camera that
will
shoot today. Cosmetically it is in very nice condition. This was a
working camera and no shelf queen. It is a 'Seasoned Campaigner'.
The
value of this particular camera lies is in it's historical
uniqueness.
It's exceedingly rare that any camera can be traced to it's original
owner. There is a color copy of the original sales slip with the
camera.
The original sales slip still exists and is in a museum in Chicago.
Cameras with provenance are quite rare.
