This is a pristine copy of  "Movie Weekly" magazine from June 2, 1923. Theda Bara came out of retirement and worked at the magazine office to get this one issue out. There is an article in it about her home life and another interview with her husband on why he wanted her to remain in retirement. Some other interesting articles are listed on the cover.

One of the articles talks about how she is at home. It tells of  a refined and intelligent woman speaking French and saying quotes from philosophers and writers from memory. She's no Vampy Bimbo in real life, far from it.

Complete pages of sheet music for the very popular song "A Fool There Was" is in this offering. The song was written during the time between the book "A Fool There Was" and the making of the movie. All three pieces of entertainment, book, song and movie were a great success in their own right.

As with many popular movies the book came first, then the song. William Fox bought the rights to this book and sat on it for some time waiting to cast the right character. Theda Bara was it and rode this rocket to stardom. She went from an unknown to a world wide recognized movie star in just a few weeks. That life changing event must have been nearly overwhelming. Theda wasn't a teenager when this happened, she was nearly thirty.

This is a photograph that was so very popular with the women of thetime. The "Vamp" has devoured this man and drained him dry.

It is on Linen paper stock and is not a glossy print. It is a fine, elegant matte finish 8X10.

William Fox presents: "Under the Yoke",  "A Volcanic Drama of the Philippines -- She Scorched Her Soul to Save an American Cavalry Officer".  "A Theda Bara Super Production."

A Fox movie staring Theda Bara and staged by J. Gordon Edwards.

A very unusual and quite rare hand tinted glass theater slide from 1918. Dimensions are 3.25 inches high by 4 inches wide. Glass slides were used for coming attractions. Very few of them survived  as they were more disposable than the marquee posters were.
