There is a forward and reverse drive mechanism on the camera's left side. There is a place on the camera left side to mount a drive mechanism that would make it possible to crank the camera from a remote crank location through a drive belt. I have read of a period in the very early days of "topicals and actualities" where someone made a 35mm motion picture camera that would fit inside an 8 by 10 glass plate view camera. This was done to camouflage the movie camera from the sight of villainous Patent War thugs who had a habit of destroying movie cameras that weren't approved by the Patent Trust. It was also done to sneak movie cameras into an events and steal images that a rival movie production company had purchased the exclusive rights for. This camera certainly would fit inside an 8 by 10 view camera where none of the regular movie cameras of the period could.
