The Moy has a unique chain drive to a take-up clutch for the winding
of the exposed stock in its film box. As far as anyone can tell Moy
was the first to incorporate ball bearings in a movie camera. On
this Moy one can see a very simple ball bearing incorporated in the
shutter drive shaft and there is a hidden ball bearing set under one
of the gear clusters. The combination of chain drive, 180 degree
shutter and drunken screw movement make Moy cameras very desirable
as examples of early
motion picture making.
