The Sterling Camera and Film Company ca. 1912 Camera

PRICE ON REQUEST

The magazines and the camera body and the physical change to the 150 foot camera body are all from the same wood with the same finish so it must be a factory built camera as opposed to an after market conversion. I believe this is possibly a one of a kind camera out of a manufacturing run of just a hand full of cameras.

The rear of the camera is fairly unremarkable. It is where the camera strap attaches and where the two magazine attachment screws are. Except, after thorough investigation of the wood and the manner in which it is assembled it is very obvious that the whole camera body was designed to be made in this odd shape. The whole back panel of wood is one piece. The top magazine box is sitting on what would be a hole cut in the body had the camera been made and then adapted to take larger magazines. The top of the camera and top magazine box have not been recut and the camera stands as it was made at the factory.

On the camera left side of the camera, just to the right of the Sterling name tag is the viewing port. This port has a plug made of cork that can be removed to view the film at the gate, just behind the lens. This way the operator can see the actual framing and the critical focus before starting to shoot the scene at hand.
