A Pair of camera movements.

1900 and 1909

Price on request

James Williamson was a chemist and supplied film processing chemistry to the still photograph industry. When he saw what these new film producers did with long strips of film he quickly joined in the manufacture of movies for exhibition and brought his son Colin along.

The Williamson movement actually has a manufacture date of 11/09 stamped in the aluminum frame of the camera under the brass pressure plate backing. Below is a photograph showing the date. After the camera is assembled the date is covered by the brass backing plate and is not visible.  This movement was manufactured within ten months of the granting of the patent.
