I have never seen another example
of this camera and can't begin to speculate on it's rarity. This is a
later model Moy & Bastie, at least later than the other examples you
see on my web site. My guess it is near 1918-19. I base this date on
the all gear drive mechanism in this camera. I feel it must have been
manufactured after the end of World War I. World War I had the
unfortunate circumstance of causing the end of most innovation and the
loss of most creative thought processes while machine manufacturers
were focused on weapons production for national survival. This camera
is all gear driven as opposed to chain driven, as in the other
examples of Moy cameras you can see in the gallery area of my web
site.
